Awareness promotes an understanding of opportunities to get
involve in sports and physical activity. Today’s generation are stuck in video
games or in mobile games, they are not aware about the indigenous sports of
India like kabaddi, tug of war, kho-kho, etc. It is generally accepted that
physical activity confers benefit to functional quality and general quality of
life and has been proven to reduce the risk of obesity, hypertension, poor
joint mobility, back pain and many more. This awareness is not for creating
champions but as a means to develop a positive attitude towards life, shaping
one's personality and character. Sports should become a compulsory norm in schools as a subject like
English, Hindi and so on.
Sports in India refers to large variety of games played in India, ranging from tribal games to more mainstream sports such as hockey, kabaddi, badminton, and football.
